We have a Nominal Account that we do not want to use. The account has history on the account so cannot be deleted. We have deactivated the usage of manual journals being posted to the account, however, is still active when being used via the Purchase L

This has now be included in Sage 200c (released spring 2018) and the latest version of Standard Online.
A new option has been added to Nominal Ledger Settings to restrict account selection to existing and active accounts only.
