Cheques are hardly used any more. Payments are usually BACS, online or by transfer. Cheque Number should perhaps be updated in each module to Payment Reference.
We still issue cheques and issue over 400 a month when we don't have bank details as part of a refer a friend scheme but I would like to be able to have the reference as something else when not paying by cheque.
