Fixed Asset Register - Add a category field as in Sage 50

Could a new field be added to the fixed asset register as in Sage 50 where a category of the asset can be selected. This could then be used to separate the assets in the asset valuation reports in to sub totals, this would be better than having to use an analysis code and run multiple reports to value different sets of assets which is the only current workaround.
