As two-factor authentication is now being mandated on Sage products, it would be great to be able to IP whitelist, making it quicker for our staff to log in when they are working on the schools network.
So anything from behind school's public/external IP address can log in without needing to complete the second step of 2FA, then when working away from the network they would require 2FA. If this can be added to Sage 200 Standard Online M2A option that would be a great addition.
Idea Benefit | Allows staff to streamline their working practice without having to jump through multiple authentications when logging into the system. This is something that other vendors we use offer as standard. |
How do you solve for this problem today? | End users have ignored setting up 2FA to reduce the disruption in logging in. This is not ideal, so with other vendors we have been able to implement IP whitelist to reduce the login routine while in the place of work. Outside they must use authentication. Staff seem to accept this whereas there is always kickback when having to do this on the network. |
Thanks for your idea, Sage ID (Sage Account) is Sage's identity service and is used across our range of products. This functionality would be provided by this service rather than Sage 200 itself. therefore I've passed your comments onto the Sage ID Product Manager.
As an fyi when 2FA is active you can check a box to remember the device for 30 days if you wish.
