I am new to sage and there had been a gap between our training and using sage, one of the features I liked on sage was the F1 help function and videos, some of these need updated as I followed the help menu in posting journal entries. The video used the exact circumstance I needed which was a rent payment to bank, but when I did this I found you cant post a journal entry to a bank account, looking at the video the journal entry help video is from 2015 and I believe Sage made the change to how you post other entries to bank a few years ago

Hi Sally. I watched the video where it shows a recurring nominal journal for rent payments. In the video, they select a nominal account used for bank account postings, rather than the actual bank account itself (the account you would set up in the Cash Book).
When you enter a nominal journal, you're posting transactions directly to your nominal accounts, so you can only select nominal accounts in the journal (not a bank account).
Usually when you set up a bank account in the Cash Book, you will select a "Bank Account" nominal account, which is used for that bank account's nominal transaction postings. So when you enter a nominal journal, you could use that same nominal account for the postings.
