Within the the nominal account - account settings, have the ability to change all three fields relating to the "Report Category". Thus ensuring accurate reporting directly from sage 200 and not exporting the data into another software and then reporting TB, BS & P&L's via an alternative software.

Thanks for the extra information. You are able to change the reporting categories for your nominal after posting have been made. You certainly should not need to reinstall the software. Please can I ask you to speak to our technical support team, if you are a customer you will need to liaise with your business partner.
The business partner and individual did not realize the allocation of the report categories to the nominal where incorrect. Once saved it could not be corrected unless you re-install the full software. Some of these category errors are also legacy issued.
These are set up in nominal ledger > report categories, this change would alter it for all associated. Can you provide more information on why you need to do this and/ or what you are trying to achieve?
Do you mean that you want to be able to change the BS/PL and category fields independently of the report category? If so, no way! - and I suggest you review your report categories with your business partner...
Or are you an education user with SOFA details?
