Apparent inconsistency with Nominal Budget - Statement Breakdown Reports Merged

SAGE 200c for EDUCATION

On the criteria screen for the Budget Statement Breakdown reports the user must specify a date range (note: dates, not periods).

The report produced consists of 2 sections:

a summary for the Dept selected listing the nominal codes and showing Budget, Actual, Committed and 'Balance' (i.e. remaining budget) values.
a list of transactions for each of the nominal codes in the summary section
However, I have discovered that the Summary section will report ALL transactions which have hit the NL at the time the report is run (irrespective of transaction date) whilst the transaction detail section only shows those with a transaction date in the range specified on the criteria screen.

This appears to me to be totally misleading as the two sections of the same report are inconsistent. Where a date range is specified (and I would also suggest that this should be a PERIOD range) then both sections of the report should be filtered on this range.

We use these reports to send to Budget Holders and it causes much confusion. Other reports are available but they do not include transaction detail which budget holders find useful.
