There is a function to set a filter on a list view as public or private but it would be really beneficial to be able to tick per user if they have access to it or if it's hidden. We rely heavily on filters across modules and often they are relevant per department.
We either have to set it so it appears on everyone's filter list (which gets very busy), or set them up privately on each persons computer (which you also can't save as the same name).
Additionally, a feature that lets someone see and use a filter, but not edit or delete it would be useful.

We have a customer with over 1000 filters and managing them can be a nightmare
The site's biggest problem is that they cannot prevent users from creating their own filters, or editing public filters
Another help would be for when selecting a filter, if the drop down could differentiate between public and private filters
