Business Advantage:- At present the customer must remember to run the report at on a given date when using this to reconcile as part of the monthly procedure and for presenting the information to management. However, if this has not been run for whatever reason we cannot get back to the required information without restoring a backup of the data into a test environment to re-run the report.
Business Impact from the customer:- As mentioned above the only solution we have is the restore the relevant backup to enable us to run the report again. If this is not possible for whatever reason the amount of time in order to obtain this information is unknown. As most other application/reports within any Sage product are date sensitive it does appear usual that such an important part of the accounts package is lacking this facility. It is difficult to imagine how we would manually collate this information if there was no back up but needless to say a significant amount of time would have to be spent by various departments in order to obtain the information and we would be unsure of the accuracy of this information.
