Audit Trail - System Wide

It would be extremely useful if Sage 200 included a comprehensive, system-wide audit trail that records when key fields are changed, who made the change, and the date and time of the change — similar to the audit functionality available in other ERP systems.

Currently, it can be difficult to understand what changed, when, and by whom once a transaction or master record has been edited. A detailed audit trail would significantly improve traceability, accountability, and internal control.

Example Use Cases

Sales Ledger / Sales Orders

  • View when products are added, removed, or amended after order creation

Track changes to:

  • Promised delivery dates

  • Requested delivery dates

  • Delivery addresses

  • Prices, discounts, or quantities

  • See original value vs amended value, along with the user and timestamp

Purchase Orders

Track amendments after initial creation, including:

  • Supplier price changes

  • Quantity changes

  • Delivery date changes

  • Line deletions or additions

  • Customer & Supplier Records

Audit changes to:

  • Addresses

  • Contact details

  • Payment terms

  • Credit limits

  • Bank details

I should imagine each window in sage would a new 'Audit' tab where it would list out the changes.

I.E. ABC User changed field 'Promise Delivery Date' from '30/01/2025' to '02/02/2025'

How do you solve for this problem today? We don't find out why certain things happen, so can't get the the root cause of problem every time. Rely on people making manual notes in the Memo tavs added by Sicon Enhancement Tab.
