Project List in Project Accounting showing potential revenue for quotation which is Lost eg misleading

We sometimes link both quotes and sales orders to projects where appropriate.

When we first used Sage 200 & Project Accounting, it was not possible to mark a sales quotation as Lost. This feature has been added in a later Sage 200 release which we now utilise to see which quotes or opportunities are ongoing and which won't be proceeding.

I noticed that one of our projects was showing that there would be some future or potential revenue when I was looking at our 'project list' within Project Accounting. This came as a surprise to me because I wasn't aware of anything in the pipeline for this particular client.

When I investigated a bit further I could see that the £1,000 potential revenue and total revenue both related to a quotation which we've marked as lost or not proceeding.

I would argue that a lost quotation shouldn't be included as this is falsely suggesting that there will be future revenues on the project when there won't be.

Could quotations that have a status of Lost be excluded from the calculations that sit behind the 'project list' so that only Live quotes which may still 'firm up' and potentially become sales orders in the future, be taken into consideration please?

We don't want to overstate revenues or give 'false hope' when we've already updated the system to show that the opportunity won't be going any further by marking the quote as Lost.

Thanks

How do you solve for this problem today? Unable to. Need to manually cross reference to see what revenue or potential revenue is 'real' and what isn't because Sage overstates the true situation.
