When inputting rapid invoices or purchase order invoices the maximum characters allowed in the reference field is 20.We use this field for the invoice number and often there are more than 20 characters to be input, a good example is Amazon invoices. In addition, the remittance advice only allows 14 charactersto be printed unless there are hyphens then the number of characters is reduced.In effect this reduces the maximum number of characters even further. We have a particular problem with Amazon as we have a significant number of theirinvoices and our payments are being mis-allocated because we are not able to provide the full invoice number. My suggestion would be to increase this field to 30 characters with all of these characters printable on the remittance advice.
